Houston A Great City

Houston Downtown Picture

Being the 4th largest metropolitan area in the United States, Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast has so many things to offer.  You could stay busy all year round with all of the available things to do. Any activities available you can think of is available.  Do you like physical activity? Hiking, kayaking, golf, roller skating are just a few of the activities available.  The list could go on and on.

If you like inside activities, maybe visit one of the many Museums in the Museum District, take a tour of the downtown tunnel system or ride the MetroRail through Houston’s diverse landscape.

Are you hungry?  There is any type of food you might want available. Every weekend there is some type of festival somewhere.  There is always a celebration of a time of year or culture. Special interest, holidays, and seasons are always celebrated or observed.

There are several stadiums and entertainment venues just in case you want to catch a concert or a baseball game.  There is so much to do like visit the Museum District or the Theatre District.  Want to have a picnic, visit one of the large expansive parks like the 5,000 acre Memorial Park located close to the Downtown Houston Area.

It is no secret I have dreams of traveling the USA in our RV when we retire. I cannot wait until we are able to visit all of the beautiful places this country offers. I long to see all of the National Parks, hidden gems, major tourist attractions and even a few quirky but fun places.

However, I do not want to overlook some of the great places right here in my own backyard.

This list is a Houston Bucket list of sorts. These places or events, here in the Houston or surrounding area are worth seeing and experiencing.  And the list really only scratches the surface of possibilities. It will probably grow as time goes by. These are mainly places that are constant and are available year round.

However, regardless of Month or time of year there is always a special event, festival or celebration somewhere around Houston.

After viewing this list, is there a must see Houston area attraction or location that I missed?  Be sure to let me know in the comments.
